[LOG] Collecting Memory Dump
You need to use a dump file to submit when requesting a cause analysis for possible Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) suspected to be caused by AhnLab products.
The dump files are automatically generated when the system reboots after experiencing a Blue Screen of Death, and by default are stored in the path below.
- C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP
The cause of the problem cannot be identified with a small memory dump (a mini dump).
If the generated memory dump is a small memory dump, please follow the steps below to change the dump collection settings to ‘Complete memory dump’ or ‘Kernel memory dump’.
To Change the Dump Settings
1. Go to Settings > System > About > [Advanced System Settings] in Windows.
* For Windows 7 and earlier versions, go to Control Panel > System > [Advanced System Settings].
2. From the System Properties window, select the [Advanced] tab and then click [Settings...] under ‘Startup and Recovery'.
3. Under ‘Write debugging information’, check if the memory dump type is set to ‘Complete memory dump’ or ‘Kernel memory dump'.
4. If you change the type to ‘Complete memory dump’ or ‘Kernel memory dump’, reboot the system to apply the changes.
If you are unable to change the memory dump type, please refer to the FAQ below.
If a Blue Screen of Death still occurs after changing the settings, please collect a new dump file and submit an inquiry.
If the driver causing the Blue Screen of Death is not a part of AhnLab product modules, please contact the manufacturer of the module or driver.
