[MDS] Management - Policy Settings (VirusTotal)
1. Summary
MDS requests VirusTotal to scan files before scanning them with its engines, including MDP or DICA. The files will be scanned with the selected security solutions to check whether the detected threat is known or unknown.

1) VirusTotal Interoperation Key
To enter the private key from VirusTotal (www.virustotal.com) as the interoperation key:
The private key received from VirusTotal (www.virustotal.com).
VirusTotal (www.virustotal.com) issues a Public Key and Private Key. The Public Key is a free service that is limited, so MDS only uses the Private Key. For more details on VirusTotal, refer to the FAQ section on its website.
2) VirusTotal Policy Settings
To add VirusTotal as a policy after entering the interoperation key:
Select the security solutions and set the priority. From All Security Solutions, select up to 5 security solutions and click the right-arrow icon. To change the priority, select the solution to change to priority and click the up or down icon.
※ You must select two or more security solution.
Set known threat criterion - Detection Rate by Security Solution or Priority.
- Detection Rate by Security Solution: “Known threat” if the number of Trusted Security Solutions that detected the threat is higher than the selected number.
- Priority: “Known threat” if at least one trusted security solution detected the threat based on the priority.
