[V3IS/ES9.0] Allowing Programs Blocked in Personal Firewall
V3 blocks the network connection from programs that are not registered in the personal firewall rules and displays the notification, ‘A network connection has been detected.’
- Block: Block the network connection from the program.
- Allow: Allow the network connection from the program.
- Auto-decide: Allow or block according to the standard set by V3.
When the 'Add to firewall rules' option is enabled and you block or allow the program, it will be added as a program rule and will no longer ask about this program and will be processed according to the previous selection.
If you accidentally block a program you are using, you can modify the program rules as follows:
To Modify the Program Rule
Find the Program Rule
1. Go to the Settings menu of V3.
2. Go to [Network Protection] > [Personal Firewall].
3. Find the process name of the program that was blocked in the list of program rules.
- The program rules are grouped by manufacturers.
- If there is no information about the manufacturer, they are categorized into ‘Others’.
4. Upon finding the connection rule marked as ‘Block’ or ‘Allow’, click either [Modify] or [Delete].
5. After making changes to the rules, you must click [Apply]. Exiting the settings by just clicking [OK] will not apply the changed rules.
Modify the Program Rule
You can choose to allow or block a program from the [Action] tab of the ‘Manage Network Rule’ menu.
Delete the Program Rule
If you delete a program rule, the notification window will appear again when the program connects to the network.
You can then click ‘Allow’ in the notification window to add new rules.
This method is recommended when you find a blocking rule, but you are not sure if the rule is correct for the program you wish to allow.
