[V3] Errors 492 or 496 occur when updating V3.
If errors 492 or 496 occur as shown below when updating V3, there may be a temporary network issue, or access to the update server may be blocked by settings for a firewall, VPN program, network equipment, or similar.
Causes
Error code 492
This occurs when access to the authentication server required for the update fails due to a network issue.
Error code 496
This occurs when downloading the authentication file required for the update fails due to a network issue.
How to fix the issue
If error 492 or 496 occurs, try the following measures.
Try again later
You may have tried to update immediately after booting, while the PC was not yet connected to the network. Try again after a short while.
Check the network environment
Access to AhnLab's authentication server may be blocked in the network environment you are using.
Contact your company's network department or your telecommunications provider.
If a firewall or VPN program is installed on the PC, access to the authentication server may have been blocked by that program.
If you have installed a new program, remove it and check again.
Check the management server connection status
If AhnLab Security Agent is installed together with V3, you may have been receiving updates through the management server, but the server's network environment or policies may have changed.
Check with your IT department or internal administrator to see whether there have been any changes.
If you brought home a PC that you used at work, check whether you are using a VPN or similar service to connect to the internal server.
If you cannot resolve the issue
If it is difficult to identify the exact cause of the error or what is being blocked, collect an AhnReport and submit an inquiry. We can check the update error logs.
